I'm Owen, your local Scottish Roblox programmer. I'm revolutionizing the restaurant roleplay genre on the Roblox platform as the Lead Gameplay Engineer at the #1 top earning and most popular restaurant roleplay game, Kohaú. I've contributed to over 70 million individual gameplay sessions and created tools used by over 80,000 active developers.
Contracted by Gamebeast as a Gameplay Programmer to bring several features improving monetization and engagement. These features included time-based and daily rewards, popups, and UX changes to improve gameplay experience. Also released a live event which drastically improved engagement.
Programmed the entire game which exposed me to a wide range of UI and physics-based systems including in-game subscriptions, ziplines, and various other small roleplay systems, which I now maintain. Also created a custom analytics solution allowing us to make changes impacting monetization and user retention on the fly.
Programmed a series of updates focused on improving monetization, revenue and CCU. Some of these updates included adding several new gamepasses, adding monetization popups, and UX changes. In the first week working on these additions we observed our peak CCU reach double that of previous weeks.
Designed and programmed a simple yet challenging obby game, in which the aim is to progress through different stages whilst controlling a 3D emoji. Stages are designed to be completed by 1 of 5 unique emojis in each world, all with different special abilities. Game was acquired by PixelPunch in March 2024.
As the Lead Gameplay Engineer at SizzleBurger, I am responsible for design and implementation of all core gameplay systems in SizzleBurger V5, including the user interface and various interactive staff jobs including cooking, cashier, janitor and manager. Also managed a team of other developers and coordinated updates.
In 2023, worked on a 6 month contract as a Gameplay Engineer - rescripted all the UI and all the related back-end systems. Job also involved the design of some new systems and the optimization of both client and server code. Since October 2024, I have fulfilled a role as the Project Manager, leading the development team.

As the Lead Developer, I worked on a variety of core gameplay features including UI, pets + customization, vehicles, music system, etc. in the new version. Actively worked on updates for 6 months and released a revamped version. During my time at Soro's, the game was featured in Series 8 of Roblox's Celebrity Collection toys.
